Whale and Dolphin Watching

Every year, humpback whales and southern right whales migrate along the NSW coastline. They head north throughout June and in the first week of July, and return southwards from around September to November.

Jervis Bay, just one hour south of Gerringong, has the enviable reputation of being NSW’s premier whale-watching destination. Come see why. Jervis Bay enjoys a longer whale-watching season than most. The highlight of the area is Jervis Bay’s prominence on the coast, which attracts the southern migrating mothers and their calves inside the Bay for some rest and recreation.

A number of companies offer whale- and dolphin-watching tours on a daily basis. Please contact your guest services agent for more information or to book a tour.
